Day 1

After a few well deserved days rest from week 1, the Summer Break reps got back to doing what they do best, and welcomed over 2500 students who had descended on Newquay……the weather was not the best but it certainly didn’t dampen any spirits! At this point we decided that Summer Break was about to have one hell of a mental week ahead!

Two of our very favourite Urban Nerds kick started the week’s party, with Rattus Rattus & Klose One warming up the decks for the dub step legend Caspa with Rod Azlan on the mic playing some very wobbly tunes to tee up week two very nicely. We must give a particular mention to the boys and their marvellously short cut dresses and dollops of fake tan, girls take note.

Day 2

After a long night, everyone picked themselves up and ambled down to the incredible surfer’s paradise that is Fistral Beach! The beach was packed out with Summer Break’ers dominating the whole beach! The tunes were blasting thanks to a Summer Break virgin Jack Denham, and after a while, and nursing very sore heads Rattus Rattus and Klose One joined us for another party on the beach. WE LITERALLY COULDN’T LOVE THESE GUYS ANY MORE!

The sun showed its face for all but a few seconds, but that was more than enough for the majority of Summer Breakers… the on-site shop subsequently sold out of after-sun very quickly! A little sun burn wasn’t enough to dent pre-lash though…

We were joined by a true musical hero by the name of Shy FX. Ready to take on a Harry Potter themed Berties, backed by Stamina MC. Hermione and Ron themselves couldn’t have rocked that place any better!

Day 3

We were blessed with an incredible day on Fistral… and for those of you who don’t know what that means, it means BEACH GAMES! You guys were well up for the party, now it was our chance to see if you could cope for the legendary Summer Break Olympics. Each year people pile more and more marshmallows in to their mouths, striving to break that long-standing Summer Break record of 54 marshmallows. Yet again, it couldn’t be beaten. For 6 years the record has gone unbeaten, meaning a great deal of entertainment for 6 years worth of Summer Breakers!

Pegs on faces offers similar entertainment! This year one person crammed an incredible 126 pegs on to his face! Congratulations… it’s a shame his world class dribbling didn’t win him any prizes!

Everyone then headed out to one of our favourite venues, Sailors, and welcomed the Freestylers for their long awaited return to the Summer Break stage! Boy did they live up to expectations, they absolutely tore the place to pieces, there wasn’t a sweat free movie character in site!

We had a little surprise in store this week, we thought we’d mix it up a little bit and put on a FOAM PARTY at The Beach nightclub! Hosted by propaganda DJ’s this was the nation’s biggest indie foam party. Some very soggy yet surprising clean students then headed back to Travelgue for some intense post lash banter in the caravans BOOM!

Day 4

Unfortunately the weather was not on our side for the final day of Summer Break 2011 – but this didn’t cause much of a problem, we took the party inside to the Fistral beach bar for indoor games. As the day brightened up we all headed to the terrace for a chilled afternoon preparing for without doubt one of the best headline acts to ever grace the stage at Summer Break – the mighty Chase and Status!

The fancy dress once again did not disappoint, we wouldn’t hesitate to say it was the very first time Chase and Status performed to a huge crowd of big fat gypsy wedding guests! Waves was packed to the rafters to witness Summer Break history being made, sadly it also signalled the end of Summer Break 2011… we could not have wished for a more thunderous end!

Roll on Summer Break 2012. We Are The 96 Hour Party People.
