Our Thoughts on Winter Break 2009…

Jan 7 2010

As the sun sets on another epic outing to the Alpine extremes, it goes without saying that everyone partied, played, rode both on, and off the pistes (nudge nudge wink wink!) to unprecedented levels.

The resort of Les Arcs absolutely loved us and every bar owner from Benji’s, to BKM and Red Hot Saloon had nothing but praise for all the antics and banter. The artists too loved playing and those late night sessions in the Apoko fall strictly under what goes on tour, stays on tour rules… until it ends up on Facebook!

Highlight Numero Un: The Meal on the mountain
Snow + Students + Vin Chaud + An Incredible Lump of Cheese + Torch-lit descent

= An out of this world experience!

I think that it is safe to say that everyone who was involved in the meal on the mountain had a night to remember (or a night to forget if they consumed too much vin chaud…)

Now, now… it is by no means an easy task summing up the SP’s. They really are totally unique that’s for sure. After liaising with the majority of WinterBreakers this particular night was clearly one of the main highlights at WB 2009. Their use of turntables, needles and mixers was pioneering and mind blowing… their fusion of rock, rave, hip-hop, dubstep and DnB had the crowd cavorting until the early hours. Just the way we like it at WinterBreak!

Let’s be realistic, there are far too many highlights for us to comment on and we don’t want to be here all day writing and you don’t want to be here all day reading. So let me just say that from all accounts, some all too literally, Winter Break 2009 was a definite hit!

Also, keep your eye on our WB facebook which will be the base for all the photographic highlights direct from the French Alps.

If you think we’ve missed out on any shenanigans then fear not, add them on! We would love to see your images and hear your stories…what really happened après-ski?!

All that is left for us to say is, happy new year and we look forward to seeing you soon.
