Winter. It’s like summer but not as good.
Firstly it’s dark. Really dark. All the time. Gone are the endless days when you’d pop outside at 6 for a cheeky game of footy or happily get settled in the pub garden to watch the day wind down pint-in-hand – bliss. Instead it seems light buggers off at 4pm and so, with nothing to entice us outside, we end up whiling away the cold evenings sitting in front of X-factor, pretending that we have some ill-conceived emotional attachment to the ‘artists’ whining away on screen.
SUMMER IS DEFINITELY BETTER.
Even the people that say they are “just a winter person darling” secretly fathom a deep seated desire to be lying on a beach somewhere. You can just tell.
…think of the warm sun on your back, the satisfaction of a cold drink on a hot day; everyone looks great and feels happy in the summer months. This brings me to my point – we all miss it when it’s gone! When it’s here we need to grab it with both hands, embrace it, smother it, suck it up and store it somewhere. Like squirrels burying nuts for winter, we must use these precious sun-kissed days to have “massive times” and store the memories to carry us through the winter blues.
