Flags, moustaches, standing lamps, t-shirts, and banners in hand, the weekend started early last Thursday for the Snowbombing team, as we headed to Battersea to help transform the infamous Power Station into London’s very own ski resort. And oh was it transformed…

With a plethora of stands and stalls (whats on) alpine themed bars, 2 live music stages – the Main Stage Tent, Relentless Energy Pyramid Stage and our very own Arctic Disco bar the festival site was truly set to redefine the après-ski experience.
By Friday morning there were sunshine and smiles as crowds of all ages flocked to the Barmy Battersea Bash to eat, drink, shop, dance, be merry and of course watch the pro Snowboarders and Skiers kick off the battle for the crown of the FIS Championships.

The snowbombing stand was swanky as ever with a live picture slide show of the Snowbombing experience and a large gaggle of Snowbombing crew chatting to new bombers about how to book / win tickets to Snowbombing 2010 ‘the greatest show on snow’. Next door in our very own Arctic Disco bar the tunes were pumping and (after a few schnapps) the crowd was jump jump jumping to the beats of all our superstar Djs including the fantastic TBX and cool cat Cuddles. As the sun went down, everyone was talking about Friday’s grand finale – a fantastic performance by Orbital at the main stage – a quality end to a day.

The sun put his hat on for Halloween at Freeze on Saturday… The site was full of moustache wearing bananas, falafel eating Frankenstines and not so deadly (neon wearing) Draculas, fancy dress galore. We saw some incredible talent from all around the world competing for their place on the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup podium. The music was eclectic and experimental with Eagles of Death Metal, Jon Kennedy, Cosmo Jarvis, James Yuill, Kissy Sell Out and the awesome Audio Bully’s. In the Arctic Disco all our DJs smashed it especially Urban Knights who rocked the party, finishing with Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ which was a total crowd pleaser, uniting the audience with linked arms, legs, group hugs and …..

Sunday – Halloween hangover or no Halloween hangover, the crowds kept on coming as the Freeze finale began. Despite the horrendous weather conditions the final (freezing) day of Freeze lived up to everyone’s expectations. The skiers took their places at the top of the jump and the sound of sexy tech house from resident DJs of Secret Sundaze (James Priestly, Giles Smith, Ethyl and Ashley Beedle etc) could be heard throughout the freeze site getting everyone shimmying through the day and night. Chase & Status  banged out the tunes from the main stage, whilst Snowbombing rocked the Arctic Disco Bar to the sound of Men in Masks and security guards favourites The Loose Cannons, who made the crowd bounce and the party-goers not want to leave, which resulted in the power being cut in true SBing style. Electro pop legends Friendly Fires ended the weekend with Paris, jumping, dancing, singing, swinging, hips jiggling.
